About Us
Tiny Tots started in 1994 when I had the first of my three children. From the very beginning, I have always put my heart into my work and took care of the children in my care just as they were my own. Tiny Tots has come a long way over the years. What started out as a tiny little home day care that was available to the children in our Hollyglen neighborhood is now a full blown day care center with a mini preschool program for our 2-5 year olds. Because of our wide age range, many infants that start Tiny Tots continue to attend well into their elementary school years. With our different programs, it's very easy to keep siblings together for years and not have to go through the hassle of driving to different centers because one has outgrown their infant/preschool care.
Tiny Tots is licensed through the state of California. All inside and outside areas have been inspected for safety. All employees and volunteers have had a criminal background check through the Department of Justice, Vaccination Clearance, have been fingerprinted through the Livescan System, and are CPR and First Aid certified.
Tiny Tots is enrolled in a state sponsored food program. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided for all of the children at no additional cost.
Our hours of operation are Monday- Friday 7am-4:30pm or 5pm for an additional fee.
Fall programs
Infants
Children can be enrolled at Tiny Tots at any age. Younger children will be considered depending on the ages of children currently enrolled. Space in the infant program is rare, however availability does happen from time to time. These guys are cared for by a loving caregiver. Licensing doesn't allow rockers, bouncers, or infant swings, so their time is spent being entertained by good old fashioned talk, touch, and love. They often like to spend their time watching all of the older kids playing around them. As they begin to toddle around, space is made for them however, they are fully included in our group just as they would be in a family with multiple children.
Toddlers
The toddler group gets to dip their toes into our preschool program and begin to experience hands on fun! Even though they are not old enough to be in our preschool program all day, they will sit in during our preschool group time. They will be exposed to their colors, shapes, letters and numbers through play. To work on their fine motor skills, they will begin doodling with crayons and markers, paint like little Picasso's, and make simple art projects with their preschool friends. They will even be given any preschool papers to feel included with their older friends.
Preschool
When your child is 3 years old, they will be actively participating in our preschool program. In this group, the children do more academic learning activities and have lots of hands on fun. This age groups schedule is more refined and includes all the same activities as they would by going off to a big preschool. They will be exposed to a morning circle time that teaches them about the calendar days, letter recognition and beginning phonics, number recognition, counting, basic math skills, cutting, pasting, and many more preschool skills that will help them obtain the knowledge they need to start school.
School Age Program
Our School Age program is available to the children that are enrolled in the Wiseburn School District. Transportation is available to Cabrillo Elementary, 138th St School, and Dana Middle School. Before school, the children will be fed breakfast, play and get shuttled to school. After school, the children will be picked up and taken back to the day care where they will eat snack, have homework time and play. Homework assistance is available to the students if they need it. Full day care is available for most staff development days.
